Quick overview: iMAR' Systems and Solutions for Defence Needs

What you will find on this page:

The family of iPRENA and iPRENA-M are most robust solutions for inertial positioning, navigation, timing (PNT), weapon alignment, vehicle guidance and control. iPRENA-M includes additionally the hardening against gun-fire shocks. iPRENA as well as iPRENA-M ares available in four classes of performance (-II, -IIIA, -III, -IV),  details can be seen in the datasheet. iPRENA-M-II/-IIIA/-III/-IV and iPRENA-II/-IIIA/-III/-IV come with most accurate and most reliable ring laser gyroscopes (RLG), they have demonstrated more than 120'000 hrs field proven MTBF, also in safety critical applications. iPRENA as well as iPRENA-M come with an integrated GNSS receiver (up to RTK and PPP available) and support also external military GNSS receivers. Also other external aiding sensors like vehicle motion sensors (VMS) are supported. iPRENA is based on iMAR's proven iNAT architecture and provides the required growth potential for the today's and future's applications in PNT and alignment tasks. These systems are also designed to meet so-called GNSS denied requirements, i.e. driving e.g. on a ground vehice for 1 hour over 100 km without any aiding (no GNSS, no wheel sensor, no VMS etc.) and knowing its position nevertheless with significantly better than 100 m.

The family of iCOMBANA consists of light weight small-size fiber optic gyro (FOG) and MEMS gyro based INS of class 0.01 ... 1 deg/hr AllanVariance bias stability and 0.1 ... 5 deg/hr performace over full temperture range, consisting of 3 robust gyros and 3 MEMS servo accelerometer axes, optional integrated dual-antenna GNSS receiver (GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU; SBAS EGNOS / QZSS) for standstil heading determination capability, wheel sensor interface and an advanced 42+ state extended Kalman filter based INS/GNSS sensor data fusion, which supports also on-the move heading determination in case of no dual-antenna GNSS availablity (single antenna GNSS sufficient).

Dead Reckoning is the way to make GNSS more accurate and reliable when tracking or steering vehicles or when surveying their trajectories, e.g. in defense applications.

iSULONA is a family of hybrid INS/GNSS systems, complemented by vehicle motion sensor input as an option. It provides reliable information of position, heading and attitude also during GNSS outages. The systems are based on MEMS inertail sensors, advanced inertial navigation algorithms based on more than 30 years of experience at iMAR on all applications on ground vehicles, at sea and in the air.

The family of iMAR's gyro stabilized pedestals iIPSC-MSG are fully two axes or three axes systems, also called gimbals or turrets, for standard and customizer specific payloads including video tracking (iOET²) capability, true north alignment, joystick and remote control capability and provides an open interface to the user's mission system. The iIPSC-MSG series is available for payloads from a few hundret grams to 2 tons (other on request), e.g. EO/IR, antennas, laser and EM cannons, high speed cameras, designators, illumination systems etc.  The system can be controlled by the user's command system or by the integrated joystick control System iJP. A powerful operator software iIPSC-CONTROL is provided together with the pedestal for operation, configuration and maintenance purposes.

The iIPSC-PT familiy covers pan / tilt heads for positioning and stabilization of communication antennas, radar antennas, jammers, optical payloads etc. Standard systems as well as customized designs are provided, from low weight to heavy weight payloads, with DC sliprings, RF sliprings, Fiber Optic Rotary Joints (FORJ) or twisted cables. The systems are designed to withstand harsh environment (land, sea), according to MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461G. All systems of the family iIPSC-PT are available optionally with gyro stabilization, GNSS dual-antenna compassing or gyro compassng, or INS/GNSS geo-referencing. For applications with required fast motion or high dynamics / angular accelerations, see our series iIPSC-MSG for optical payloads and iIPSC-ANTRAD for antenna payloads.

Many other systems and solutions are available for the usage in defence applications, like magnetometers for general as well as for deep sea applications (iTAHS, iMAG), specific solutions for naval applications in navigation and control (iATTHEMO), torpedo navigation systems (iTNAV), Mortar Alignment systems, transfer alignment systems e.g. for weapon calibration (iPEGASUS) etc.
